The healing ministry of Jesus did not end when he returned to the Father, he remains with us: risen and triumphant! Journey with Jesus through some of the healings of Jesus. All of us are in need of healing. Journey with Mary through the hmiracles of Jesus, and give him access to the areas that need healing in your life.

The Blind Man

 

The story of Jesus healing the blind man occupies the entirety of Chapter Nine of John’s Gospel. Observe the faces of the many people involved in the reaction to the miracle: the Pharisees, the man’s parents, the blind man himself. What is Jesus’ engagement with each of them? Do you place yourself in one of the character’s shoes or are you an observer? Take note of your own feelings, and pray with them.

 

The Raising of Jairus’ Daughter

 

This story appears in all the Synoptic Gospels but try meditating on Mark’s version (5: 22-43). What exactly brings Jairus to Jesus: faith or desperation? Observe the expressions of those in the crowd. How does Jesus engage with each of them? How does he engage with you?

 

The Woman Caught in Adultery

 

This story is in John 8:1-11. What is Jesus writing in the sand? Are you a part of the crowd? What do you think should be done with this woman? Do you feel compassion for her? Anger? How do people react to Jesus’ response?

 

The Samaritan Woman at the Well

 

What would your conversation with Jesus be like if you met him at the well, and you were a Samaritan? What things would Jesus reveal to you about yourself? What are your feelings towards this woman as you watch the scene unfold? How does Jesus’ behavior make you feel?

 

Jesus & Nicodemus

 

Chapter 3 of John’s Gospel tells us of Jesus’ encounter with Nicodemus. What is his past that inspires him to go to Jesus? Go with Nicodemus: what is your part in the conversation? How does Jesus answer you?
