St. Anthony of Padua: Pray For Us!

Dear Saint Anthony,

A powerful story of your intercession is among the most ancient of them. While the basilica in Padua was being built to your honor, a child fell into a barrel of water and drowned. Her grieving mother promised to donate the child’s weight in grain for the poor if she were restored to life…and she was.

Dearest Saint Anthony, intercede for us that we may be restored to life! May we be restored to life in the Spirit: rejuvenated in our life in Christ! Then one day may we be restored to the fullness of life in the new creation, when we will rise with you to praise our God for all eternity in glory!

May our efforts during this Novena help us to grow in love of Christ, Our Lord, Amen.

Pray for us, Saint Anthony, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ!

Novena Prayer to Saint Anthony

O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request). O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.
