Novena Day Seven

St. Anthony, Helper in Times of Trial

Dear Saint Anthony,

Through your life one earth you were always aware of the Lord’s presence in our lives, and how he gives us the gift of himself each day. When he embraced you through your vision of the Christ Child, he provided a visible sign of that which you experienced at every Mass: the living and true God, ever present and ever true, and ever embracing us.

Dear Saint Anthony, help me to be as confident in his presence throughout my day: through all my troubles, all my anxieties, and all my afflictions. Help me life’s difficult moments to remember that Jesus is with me through them all: that he himself experienced them, and he himself has conquered them by the glory of his passion.

May our efforts during this Novena help us to grow in love of Christ, Our Lord, Amen.

Pray for us, Saint Anthony, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ!

Novena Prayer to Saint Anthony

O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request). O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.
