Dear Saint Anthony,
Today we come to you with reverence and admiration for your love of Jesus truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Today we ask you to help us appreciate better the graces that God pours out for us at Mass, and in receiving the Lord in the Eucharist. I think of you most especially during the Liturgy, when the celebrant speaks of “the saints who have done your will throughout the ages.”
With your aid, I will be more reverent and mindful during Mass, and more careful in my preparation for Holy Communion. As we are nourished in both word and sacrament, may we remember that this celebration binds us together- the entire Body of Christ – with him as our head.
May our efforts during this Novena help us to grow in love of Christ, Our Lord, Amen.
Pray for us, Saint Anthony, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ!
Novena Prayer to Saint Anthony
O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request). O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…
